Key Responsibilities
- LiDAR Data Processing:
- Process raw LiDAR data using specialized software (e.g., Terrasolid, LP360, or similar) for point cloud classification, filtering, and 3D modelling.
- Generate digital elevation models (DEMs), digital surface models (DSMs), and contour maps from LiDAR datasets.
- Perform quality control checks on LiDAR datasets to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- GIS Data Management:
- Create, update, and maintain geospatial databases using ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar GIS platforms.
- Integrate and manage spatial data layers (e.g., environmental, topographic, infrastructure) with LiDAR datasets.
- Perform spatial analysis, georeferencing, and mapping tasks to support project needs.
- Develop high-quality maps and visualizations for reporting and presentation purposes.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with engineers, environmental scientists, and survey teams to support geospatial data requirements.
- Assist in field data collection using GPS/GNSS devices, drones, or other data capture technologies.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of workflows for data integration and project efficiency.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Document processes, workflows, and procedures related to GIS/LiDAR tasks.
- Prepare reports summarizing geospatial and LiDAR analysis results for internal and client use.
